Arne Friedrich has set his sights on Champions League football next season after taking part in his first training session as a Wolfsburg player.
The Germany international joined the Wolves this summer from Hertha Berlin and he trained for the first time with his new team mates and for the first time since the World Cup on Monday.
"After a difficult year in Berlin, the World Cup enabled me to clear my mind," he said. "Now I want to really get back into it with Wolfsburg. I want us to be right up there, within reach of the Champions League. The team is strong and I can see a lot of potential here."
Wolfsburg coach Steve McClaren is also delighted to have Friedrich at his disposal.

"Now I am finally able to work with the entire squad," said the Englishman.
"With his experience, Arne Friedrich will be a leading player. He strengthens our defence and I am convinced about his ability.
"Signing him for Wolfsburg was the right decision."
